Alexander Rybak: "I don’t dream to get married!"
Finally! Alexander Rybak, the winner of ESC 2009, a Belarusian’s Norwegian or Norwegian’s Belarusian, as you prefer, arrived in Minsk with a solo program. Alexander is a frequent guest in Belarus last days, but until now his performances were limited to his famous “Fairytale”, however, he isn’t afraid to become one-song-singer:
A. - Why? It’s enough! That's the biggest dream for all composers to write a hit ... But I have also ... Do you know that I’ve already had an album?
J. - Of course.
A. - So I certainly has other songs other than “Fairytale”, but of course I’m also preparing for the next year.
J. – Did something change after Eurovision? Is your popularity falling down?
A. - Well, it isn’t yet, but I know that soon it’ll be down, and ... this is good!
At the scene of the Minsk Palace of Sports Alexander proved that his talent isn’t limited to one good song. Artist performed his album to the Belarusian audience, which had already become platinum in Russia.
A. - The first album should be - for the masses, the second album - also for the masses, the third album should be ... although it is scary, to talk about this now, because now, I’m only dreaming about it ... The third album, I would like it to be ... mmm ... jazz.
Since ESC Alexander Rybak hasn't change - still smiles sincerely and still captivates the audience with his imperfect Russian language.
A. – It’s a little bit better, but I still need to look up words all the time ... well here, for example, I don’t remember! A new word ...
Sasha continues to discover Minsk anew. And this trip to Minsk touched the singer to tears.
A. - I saw the Gorky Park again a couple of hours ago, and I nearly cried because it has been so long since I have seen this ….view!
People of all ages are doomed to fall in love with Alexander Rybak: one can meet girls, women and even grandmothers at the singer’s concert, as well as his first teacher of piano who have bought the ticket, too.
Elena Soboleva (cultural music teacher):
- Of course, when I first saw him today ... I saw this difference ... back then, he was a little boy and now ... is a grown-up, handsome young man!
But the press is still obsessed with Alexander Rybak’s private life.
A. - I do dream to get married ... but actually - I don’t ... dream to get married!
A. – My dream girl? Hmmmm .... a little bit….. a little bit younger than me, a little bit lower, and a little bit prettier, and ... well, actually it doesn’t matter.
A. – I’m Alexander Rybak, especially for "Cultural people” (TV program).

Alex’s interview on radio Mayak in Moscow, 22.10.09
http://www.radiomayak.ru/tvp.html?id=206085
Part 1
Man: As we have promised you our guest today is Alexander Rybak. Hello, Sasha!
Alex: Hello!
Woman: It’s a pleasure for us that you have popped up on Mayak.
A: It’s a pleasure to me.
M: By the way, it’s a sort of symbol that has a direct relation to Norway. (Mayak is a lighthouse in English) There are a lot of lighthouses in Norway.
W: Don’t tap on a microphone!
A: Oi-oi-oi, sorry!
M: We’ve got a lot of questions in our forum, SMS-portal. I’ll remind you that you can ask Alexander questions in our forum, SMS-portal.
A: Aren’t there enough yet?
M: No, we need more.
W: We want forum to collapse.
M: Numbers to call -…..
M: Sasha, I’d like to ask you straightaway - has your life changed much since Eurovision and do you like what is going on with you or not?
A: First of all - I like everything, absolutely. And the life itself… I don’t even know. Everything around me has changed but feelings remain the same. It’s just I get happy now because of different things and I get sad because of different reasons than before. So, before I got sad because there was no cheese in a fridge and now I got sad because, for example, there was only a half of the public at one of the concerts.
M: Does it happen?
A: Well, just now it happened for the first time. In Sweden.
W: In Sweden? How come?
M: They do that on purpose.
A: And there in Sweden also my album… They gave it the best ratings in Norway and the worst in Sweden.
W: Envy is a bad feeling.
M: And for that we will make them listening to a commercial and ABBA for four times in a row.
After the commercial:
M: Our guest today is Alexander Rybak – a musician, singer and winner of the international music contest Eurovision-2009. In case if there is someone who does not know about it yet.
W: But there is no one like that here, Sasha.
M: Unlike in Sweden, Sasha, there is no one.
W: We’d like to concentrate on your hobby.
A: Yes, with pleasure.
M: There are computer games among the hobbies our editors notified us about.
A: Yes.
M: On the one hand, it is a good hobby. On the other hand, it is, in my opinion, very addictive.
A: It’s a great hobby. So what's wrong if it’s addictive?
M: What’s wrong? You stop writing good songs, talk to friends, go in for sports...
W: It causes addiction. It's like smoking.
A: No, why? Smoking is just bad and you get nothing good out of that. But I would say that the TV games are my best inspiration.
M: Well, what games do you play?
A: Different games.
W: The favorite one?
A: Well, games or movies, for example, a horror movie. If it’s a very-very scary movie and, maybe, I really like one character, and then I think: oh, just about him I want to write.
W: And an inspiration comes, right? It’s interesting.
A: Yes- yes-yes. So, I have an inspiration from very bizarre things.
W: Are there always horror movies or other movies too?
A: No, I just said that it cold be from anything. But very often it’s from the nature.
W: You mean from mountains, sea?
A: Yes. There is the most beautiful nature in Norway – mountains, fjords.
W: Do you like the most the Northern or the Southern nature?
A: And the Southern is like?...
M: Greece, for example, cypresses.
A: The very Southern, right? Well, it’s different very much from the normal world, so….
M: Well, for us - northern people, of course! Give us the snow!
A: By the way, I really like snow and I like winter very much. And the Norwegians are just a very optimistic people. But although we do skiing very good and, in general, are sportsmen…
M: As far as I know, everybody does skiing and skating there.
A: Yes-yes-yes. But actually nobody likes that feeling of winter; everybody wants summer to come sooner.
M: So, they do skiing and think that summer should come sooner.
A: Yes. Because they do not understand nostalgia in the way we love it in Russia, in Belarus, such a melancholy, and the snow, the snowfall even helps a lot.
M: I don’t know about melancholy but in the song you won Eurovision with… although there are some sad notes in it, but it’s quite optimistic after all.
A: Well, yeah. I wanted to show people that I’m a little bit crazy. (laugh) Because although I kind of in love with the girl and have loved her for six years by now without any results, I am happy anyway.
M: Yes, only a crazy man can do this.
W: What was the inspiration for that song?
A: The girl, of course. And again - the nature of Norway. Last year I was traveling through the mountains, and there on the highest mountain I took out the violin and began to play a melody. It liked the melody very much, so I began to write text to it. And the song was born.
W: Some of my acquaintances – and I’m agree with them - we saw you in this song (Fairytale) as a character from the movie “Titanic”.
A: Oi-oi-oi.
M: DiCaprio?
W: Not personally DiCaprio, but his character there. What was his name?
M: I don’t remember his name. Why do you look at me?
A: Why? Like, I have drowned?
W: It’s just a similarity… the way you performed on ESC, your entire performance, that violin, the way you were dancing, your smile.
A; Wow, I have never heard something like that before. It’s very pleasant.
W: Really? Then my friends are crazy too.
A: I’ll watch “Titanic” right after I get home.
M: We must ask you the questions from the forum or your fans won’t understand us.
M: Alena Dejavju from the forum “Rybak’s fans” writes: “Does Shasha choose his clothes by himself or he has a specially trained person to do this?”
A: A specially trained person?
M: It’s just a phrase of speech – here it means a stylist.
A: Yes, I have a stylist. But I think that I absolutely don’t need it. Because the most important is that the clothes to be clean and not to spoil a show on TV. And it’s completely does not matter to me whether it’s an expensive brand or not.
M: Do you have to reckon with what they recommend you to put on? When they say – no, Sasha, it’s better to put on THIS.
A: Well, if they have a good argument.
M: So, it’s possible to convince you?
A: A-ha. But mostly it’s me who convinces them.
W: Did it happen that they brought to you some clothes that you didn’t like and that didn’t suit you and you said – no, never.
A: Of course. In 90% of cases.
W: 90%? Maybe you should change the stylist then?
Laugh
W: Helen asks: “Is it true that your girlfriend must necessarily have blue eyes?”
A: But I don’t have a girlfriend. …Ah! I got it!
M: In general.
A: I got it, I got it.
W: He said he has no girlfriend! (with exaggeratedly excited voice)
Laugh
A: No. They can be green or yellow (laughs)
W: So, she will be black-skinned with yellow eyes. Zzzzzoom…
W: So, what else questions do we have here?
M: Anton Markin asks: “Do you read Russian forum on your page on the Internet?”
A: Emmm…
M: Because people write there and they don’t know whether you read it or not.
A: I read forum sometimes. On Facebook, right?
M: Yes, on Facebook.
A: Sometimes I send by myself different SMS, MMS to Facebook from my tour. But I almost never have time to check it out later and to answer different… how to say this… comments.
A: And to read Russian forum is very difficult to me. Because I very-very bad… Well, you can hear that...
M: No, you speak great.
A: Well, I speak OK but I read very-very bad.
W: How old were you when your parents brought you to Norway?
A: I was five. So, I’m very grateful that Russian people accepted me, so I try to learn reading Russian again but for now it’s just such small stories about Winnie the Pooh and so on.
W: It’s OK, soon you’ll make it to “War and Peace”
M: Irina writes that they wait so much for your concert in Berlin on the 2nd of December. We have listeners even in Berlin and in Finland…
A: It’s very pleasant. Well, she has to wait for a little more, then. I’ll come. (laughs)
W: In what year on the 2nd of December?
M: Will it be this year?
A: Yes-yes-yes.
W: In Berlin?
A: Yes. So far we have been… In the summer we gave many concerts in Norway. Because it’s my country actually. We had about 40 concerts.
W: That many?!
A: Yes. We played for almost 200 000 people in this summer. And then we have started our new tour with new songs. We started in Ukraine, it was very interesting. Then there were concerts in Minsk and in Latvia, Lithuania. And now we are in Sweden.
W: Somebody wrote about Kiev here.
M: Yes, they wrote that you performed in Kiev and they thanked you very much for that concert.
A: Thank you.
M: Valeria Lexina writes: What was the bravest act in your life besides performing in Eurovision?
A: When I told the girl that I still love her.
W: That was a brave act?
A: I think that was the bravest act.
M: And was a performing in Eurovision a brave act?
A: Oh, no. It was a smart act.
Laugh
M: Great. “Sasha, are you still together with the girl you dedicated your song to?” Well, I think that everybody knows now that you are not.
A: Well, everybody knows that I’m not.
W: Alena asks: “What do you do with that heap of stuffed toys and other presents you get at concerts? And what gift did you remember the most?”
A: Well, the most valuable to me are those gifts when I feel that there was a lot of time spent on them. Like, for example, the huge-huge albums or books.
M: Hand-made, right?
A: Yes. With pictures, with stories Especially from Facebook… a group of girls from all over Europe… they gave me very-very interesting book. Of course, it’s interesting to me because it’s about me (laughs). That is what I like very-very much. And all those toys - I try to collect them all and I think I’ll give them away to a children hospital at the end of the year. So, I try to bring in all those toys home with me. But it’s difficult, of course. Especially it’s a pity that the country where they give me presents the most is the one that is far the most from Norway.
M: What country is it?
A: Here, of course, in Russia. And in Belarus and Ukraine too. But it’s hard to take it on a plane when they give me just huge bags…
M: With toys.
A: So, I try to eat up all the chocolate while I’m still in Russia.
Laugh
M: One more question: “What do you do before you go out on stage? How do you get yourself prepared for a performance? Are there any rituals you do?”
A: You know what, it’s always a shame when they ask me this question because I don’t prepare myself at all. I’ve been preparing myself for so long, for 15-16 years till now I’ve been practicing for 2-3 hours a day. And now I suddenly play and sing very simple pieces. Because now it’s more of a pop-music, so it’s more important to tell a story. And I don’t have any rituals too actually. We just do a high-five all together. How it will be in Russian?
M: High-five? I don’t know how it will be in Russian.
W: A clap?
M: Ah! A clap! Now we have figured it out.
W: “I’d like to get to your concert. Are you going to perform in Kazan?”- Kamilya asks. Kazan is in Russia, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.
A: If there will be a lot of public then with pleasure.
W: Bring up the public, Kamilya, and you’ll get a concert.
A: And if not – then you can come to other cities at least. For example, in Saint-Petersburg, in Moscow.
M: They ask how big will be your tour over Russia and if there will be any tour at all?
A: To be honest, I don’t remember every city now, but there will be four cities.
W: (to the audience) We’ll ask our manager which cities are they and tell you later.
M: One more question, a personal question: “Alex, if a girl will invite you for a date, will you accept an invitation?” I.e. if it’s not you invite a girl but a girl invites you. A girl comes up to you and says: “Sasha, come for a date to a cinema.”
A: If I have time and will…
Laugh
M: You need to switch places here – if you have a will then you have time.
A: Ah, well, to be honest, yes.
W: They also ask you about “star fever”. Is this thing familiar to you?
A: Well, yes. I get a “star fever” every day. I get sick with it every day but then I get cured over every night.
W: You are so funny.
M: Today our guest is Alexander Rybak. Please, send us your questions. We’ll try to ask as much of them as we can.
W: Now we are going to listen to one more song. What is its name – Roll with the wind?
A: Yes.
W: Is this a new song?
A: Well, not that new but maybe for Russian public it’s a new one, I like it very much.
Part 2:
M: I remind you that our guest today is Alexander Rybak. You can send your questions to… (numbers)
M: Sasha, there are two of Eurovision contests. There is Eurovision of children’s songs , when children sing, and for grown-ups.
A: For elders. (laughs)
M: For elders. Like you, for example. By the way, that contest of children’s songs will be aired by the TV channel “Russia”, our colleges, who are working at the same building we are in now. And the big contest that will be in May of the next year in Norway will be aired by the same TV channel.
A: And do you know who won the last year?
M: Last year? I don’t know.
A: Norway, of course.
M: No! No way!
Laugh
W: They say there was a singer who speaks Russian, Norwegian.
A: Ah! No-no-no, I’m talking about the contest for youngsters.
M: Ah! I thought you were joking.
A: No, I never make jokes.
W: Yes, you are very serious.
A: For youngsters. And then it was Norway too. You see how proud we are. (laughs)
M: Yes.
W: Were they happy about your victory in your country?
A: Very happy, of course. But I realized it straight away that they love me now but in a couple of months… Especially when they have known that we have to spend all the money on Eurovision so there is no money left for the football championship. The World championship.
W: That’s serious.
A: Yes. So, on the contrary, they all hate me now in Norway. (laugh).
W: No, I don’t think so.
A: That’s why I came here. For good. (laughs)
M: We have enough of money for both Eurovision and the Championship.
A: There you are.
M: What advice would you give to children who perform there?
A: Children don’t need any advices. Children know better than anyone what to do. I would rather give an advice to parents to not force their youngsters too much because the most important is… This is actually a game, you need to enjoy it. There is nothing so serious about it. If there is a talent, if the song is beautiful, then let them vote, go in for this. But you don’t have to give over all your life to Eurovision. So, parents have to be cautious to not too much…
M: Was it for you before Eurovision like “I have to win or die”? Like “I must necessarily win”?
A: I did not want to die, in any case.
M: It’s just a phrase of speech.
A: I just knew that I was the one of the favorites.
M: You knew from the beginning?
A: Yes, because the bookmakers put me as a favorite straightaway. So, it was very hard and took a lot of nerves because they would not let me get back to Norway if I would not win.
Laugh
M: Bookmakers fails sometimes. They all made bets on Barcelona…
W: We are talking about football now.
M: But Rubin from Kazan won.
A: But it’s a little bit different from football. There everything is accidental.
M: First of all, they don’t sing.
A: Yes, exactly.
W: By the way, there is a question about self-confidence. “Is it true that there is a song “Da ya think I’m sexy” in your new program?”
A: Oi-oi-oi! Yes, but it’s a surprise; you should not talk about it.
W: Oh! What have I done! That’s it! The question is taken off.
M: Dasha asks: “Alexander, would you like to sing a song in Russian?” Apparently, Dasha is not in the know that you already have such songs.
A: Well, first of all, I have now… how it’s called in Russian - re-release?
W: Yes, on the 23d the album will be re-released.
A: There will be two new songs in Russian, even three. So, if people have not bought my first album then it’s better to wait a little and to buy it with Russian songs. And at my concerts I actually sing many of classics, well, not many – two songs. (laughs)
W: That’s many.
M: Well, that’s more than one.
A: But they are old ones. I like old songs very much, because I actually don’t know new ones because I left when I was five. So, parents just have shown to me.
W: Do you listen to the Russian music now?
A: Old one. Well, not very old, for example, Komarovo, I like it very much. So, I perform it at concerts. And the ballad “I asked the ash-tree”
W: Beautiful song.
A: Very beautiful. It’s my favorite.
M: It’s from a very popular movie here in Russia. By the way they ask you what music do you listen to.
A: I just told.
W: No, in general.
A: Ah, in general. In general, I like beautiful and simple melodies. This is the most important to me, the genre is not important to me at all.
W: And which musicians?
A: I like Sting very much. He never disappointed me yet. Michel Jackson had always only genial songs as well. Andrea Bocelli always chooses the most beautiful songs as well. And also I like many artists but usually only two-three songs of every artist. It’s very rare that I buy the whole album of an artist or a band. So, I like Schweine of Glukoza very much, for example, but it does not mean that I like all songs. By the way, is it a band or is it just a girl?
W: It’s a girl.
M: At first it was a cartoon-clips, so nobody knew what she looks like. But it’s a female-singer.
A: But now they know how she looks like?
M: Yes, of course.
A: But did people like it?
M: How she looks?
A: Yes.
M: Yes.
A: It’s very good.
W: She is very similar with the one from the cartoon.
M: It turned out that she is very funny and interesting girl.
A: I just adore a couple of her songs.
M: Nadezhda, our listener from Ufa, who is 17, knows that you play in the movie Yohan. She asks -was it released already?
A: It’s a family movie. No, they delay the release date for the later and later all the time.
W: Does Morten Harket play there?
A: Yes, Morten Harket plays my dad. But to be honest I have a small role.
W: Anyway it’s interesting experience.
A: Well, yes, it’s more an experience than…
M: Don’t you have a wish to continue the actor career?
A: I’d love to with pleasure. You know what, I’d like to make a musical, film-musical. My own.
W: Do that. We’ll be waiting for it. Giya and me will be the first ones to attend it.
W: I have to tell about five cities Alexander will perform in. Rostov, Samara, Moscow, Ekaterinburg and Saint-Petersburg. And we have phone-calls.
A: Great. Finally.
M: Yes, let’s give them the opportunity.
W: Hello, Evgeniy.
Evgeniy: Hello to everybody. May ask Alexander a question?
A: Of course, you may.
Evgeniy: I’ve heard that after Eurovision there were some troubles with you instrument, like it was stolen or something. Can you tell something about it, how did the story end.
A: And what do you think – did it really happen or not?
Evgeniy: But I’m asking you. Because I’m a detective and maybe I could help you somehow.
A: It’s very pleasant. Thank you so much for your help. But I don’t need help in this case because I have the violin and nothing like this has happened. But the next time if something happens I’ll give you a call, ok?
Laugh
W: Evgeniy, we’ve written down you number just in case. And I wonder, when the strings were breaking up on the violin – did you do this on purpose?
A: It was not the strings it was a hair on the bow.
W: And it was made on purpose or not?
A: The hair is made on purpose, but I just don’t tear it up on purpose.
W: Because it was very tickling for all the viewers.
A: It’s great.
W: Oleg calls us and wants to ask a question.
M: Hello, Oleg.
Oleg: Hello to everybody. Alexander, I’m your new fan, and I was in Norway last year in the autumn. Blah-blah. I’ve heard there music of Grieg, A-Ha, Secret garden and I hope that you’ll give to the world the same interesting and beautiful melodies.
A: Thank you very much.
Oleg: I’d like to ask you do you use a traditional Norwegian music in your songs?
A: Yes, in some of them. But to be honest, the genre is not important so much to me. The most important is a beautiful melody.
Oleg: But I can hear it clearly.
A: Well, yes. I’d like to show Russian culture and Norwegian culture. Because my disk is all over Europe now. So, it’s very pleasant that you notice the Norwegian spirit in it.
W: Polina asks: “Can you say that you are completely happy now or is there something missing?”
A: I don’t even know what I can be missing now.
W: So, you are happy, right?
A: Yes. The only thing that I’m waiting for is when I’ll get a little bit older to not go around Europe anymore. I don’t say that I don’t like it, on the contrary, I like it very much, I enjoy this life very much.
W: But it’s exhausting.
A: Well, a little bit. But I have energy now. But in 3-4 years I’d like to work at home. To be a locksmith. (laughs)
W: Locksmith? And to write a musical at the same time as you have promised to the people.
M: Alexander Rybak is in our studio, we’ll be back after music and a commercial.
M: Dasha Shahtarova has written on the forum: “Sasha, have you watched the video from the group from vkontakte.com that they’ve given over to you?”
A: Of course, Dasha, I watched and liked it very much. And they always give me a lot of letters and such videos and I can honestly say that I watch everything and try to answer to everything and if I don’t answer it’s because…
M: There is not enough of time.
A: There is always enough of time. But maybe I just got lost or, maybe, lost a letter and then I get very sad because I like it but I can not find it again in the heap.
W: Sasha, judging by the questions that have been here today – they are the same all the time. Are you single, what kind of girl do you like, when are you going to have kids and so on and so on.
A: So, you can make it up by yourself.
W: Don’t you want to say – just leave me alone or not?
A: No. But they all will leave me alone right away as soon as I get a girlfriend.
Laugh
W: No, don’t count on it. Then there will be another war.
M: Not all, I can tell you by my own rich experience. Not everybody will leave you alone.
A: Well, let’s hope for that.
M: We have very little time left just to take one more call. There were men all the time who asked questions, lets give the opportunity to a woman. Lena is calling. Hello, Lena.
Lena: Good afternoon. I’d like to ask Alexander, does he have a feature of a character that he would like to correct somehow, that he does not like.
A: About myself?
Lena: Yes. And I also would like to say thank you from your fans from Facebook, they are listening to you live now. Those girls who were at your concert in Oslo thank you very much for that you liked their present – the book.
A: Of course, I liked it, of course.
Lena: And they hope that you will read it.
A: Well, I have read a half of it.
W: Aaah! Cool.
A: Well, I have many of not very good sides. I think a lot about result, so sometimes I need to insult people to get a good result.
M: Musicians and…?
A: Musicians or producers.
M: You fight with them?
A: Well, a little bit, yes. But you always have to fight at the backstage to not be angry when there is a public in there.
M: Are you a quick-tempered person?
A: Not quite. For example, when I can not sleep I often punch a wall with a fist.
M: It’s good that it’s not a producer.
A: Yes, exactly. And especially when there is a concert and something does not go the way it should then it’s always necessary not to show it to the public. So I always try to… The best, of course, is not to fight at all, but I have to. And then it’s at the backstage.
M: I see. As a matter of fact, intolerance of a bad work and of unprofessional people is a good feature too.
M: Thank you very much, Sasha, that you came to us.
A: Thank you. It’s very easy to talk to you.
M: Thank you and good luck in your career.
A: Thank you. The questions were very good, both from you and from the listeners.
M: We have very good listeners. We hope that in May of a future year we will see you in Eurovision 2010 that will be aired by the channel “Russia”.
W: Are you going to open it with your song?
A: Maybe yes.
W: I think rather so.
A: Or finish it.
M: It’s a tradition.
A: Well, yes.
M: And we hope that Norway will bring luck to the Russian performers.
A: Thank you very much.
W: Thank you so much for coming. Good luck.
A: Have a nice evening.

-Alexander was teased because he came from Belorussia and wore the same t-shirt to long, but mainly because he played the violin.Today he is a world star thanks to the violin.
--The three or four in the class who were bullied are the ones that are the most famous, so the ones who were bullies didn't have the free time you need to develop anything special.
-What would you like to say to a someone who is the same age you were on that photo and feels bullied.
--You should spend time with the few friends you do have and a long period it was just Mom and Dad, but that was enough you
only need to find one friend. Now I know that it was true what mom and dad said that it's just a small part of my life and just
make the situation as good as it can be.

This is my own translation of an article in Dagbladet, october 27. 2009
(I can't stand google translation if it can be avoided...)
"Well prepared for the USA-tour"
In a month Alexander Rybak will be on stage in Brooklyn, New York. A trip he is well prepared for, a music editor thinks.
Alexander Rybak has taken Europe with storm since the Eurovision-victory in May, and the last 6 months has been cramped with touring and promo-work. Now the young star takes a short break from the Europe tour. Next month he and the dance group Frikar aims for the other side of the Atlantic, to give two concerts in New York Millenium Theatre.
- After having been on top of lists in a number of European countries, included Germany which is the biggest record market in Europe, he is evidently well prepared for the USA-tour, says Silje Larsen Borgan, editor in the Faro-journalen.
November 21. Rybak is on stage in Brooklyn together with Frikar. A Norwegian with a fiddle and a modern folk dance group is not everyday material in the city part which according to the P3 (Norwegian radio channel much concerned with music) music leader has the most particular audience in the world. - Brooklyn represents the most spoiled audience in the world, the hipsters never applaud, not even pat each others backs, says Mats Borch Bugge to Dagbladet.
The Russian organizer Vasily Chapayev has booked the ESC-winner to the big city. Manager Line Ådland confirms that Rybak is going to meet with people in the music industry during his stay. - He is going to have a few days off, and we will visit the Sony ATV-office, Alexanders publishing company. There will be some work while we are there, but USA is not our priority right now, Ådland tells Dagbladet.
Even if the manager claims this is not a big step towards the American market, the editor in Faro-Journalen thinks it might be a market for the young artist in USA as well.
- He has a very good starting point, having reached so many already, and has a wide appeal when it comes to the market groups. He also represents something truly Norwegian, common and different musically, she says and adds: - Artists like Dimmu Borgir, Madcon and Ida Maria has obtained attention in USA the last few years, and it will be interesting to see how Rybak will be received, Larsen Borgan says, who thinks a potential breakthrough depends on timing, luck and good connections.
P3s musical editor believes however that it's a difficult market for a breakthrough for the young violinist. - I think Rybaks success to a large degree has been due to the ESC-victory, a European phenomenon, that is not going to have such an impact in USA. Success in USA demands hard work over a long period of time. Rybak has not delivered a satisfying album, but has his potential in live performances, says Borch Bugge.
Alexander Rybak has a full packed schedule until Dec. 20. He will visit among other places Moscow, Berlin and Helsinki to give concerts, in addition to promo work in different countries. He also gives priority to the traditional Christmas concerts that the Rybak family use to give.

Another nice review from Østersund, Sweden:
http://op.se/kulturnoje/recensioner/1.1469539
Google-translate:
Rybak charming mixture drowned sometimes in lavish show
Music | Östersund
• Alexander Rybak
• Band and dancers from the Frikar
• Old Theater, Saturday
Outside the theater about ten minutes before it is almost deserted. But when the doorman than to the side reveals itself a street life worthy of a rock star.
The phenomenon in itself, with hordes of screaming fans, hundreds of phones in the air by fans who want to immortalize the moment and a slight hysteria after completion of each track, is probably not in the scale occurred before in small Östersund.
It would probably not notice any difference if Robbie Williams was on the scene ...
Besides the music going in a completely different direction.
What makes Alexander Rybak to a unique artist, his charming mixture of Belarusian sadness, optimism, Norwegian, Irish / Scottish folk music stuk and especially pop melodies with choruses that sits on the brain.
He should have an ear for writing the following year's summer plagues, although he has not done anything in the class with "Fairytale".
He has intense presence in the songs, and is good at capturing the audience. Talking between songs is both easy and humorous, even after the second number he draws into laughter when he exclaims in "Have you time for a very very last song?".
He is very talented violinist, something that could only perceptible under Contest.
Among the classic elements I am very fond of the sad lullaby "Kupalinka", touching the hot play and sung.
The texts tend to be well-trivial in some of his own songs. As in "13 horses", the text is reminiscent of a Scottish sailor show, it gets too småfånigt and catchy at the end. Too bad, because melodically it is a great rock ballad with big hit potential, but unified, difficult to engage in.
Likewise is the case of the Dolphins.
But I think the pieces appealed to the young audience more.
It gets a little too much show and too little substance sometimes, when Rybak, dancers from the group was acquitted and the musicians are drowning in a sumptuous sound and light show.
Dancers, I do not really function with, they are talented, but does not add anything special until the "Kiss and Tell", which illustrates the message of the song with good choreography.
Rybak could usefully scale down on the attributes around, and still have a good show that is.

Alexander Rybak refuses to turn down the speed. - I almost fainted on stage.
Then everything began to spinn around, I managed to creep away to a bottle of water - and got some liquid in me ! says Alexander Rybak. Twice the MGP-star has been close to faint on stage.
- It was hot, and I was so tired and stressed. That was the explanation to that I suddenly felt bad and was about to faint, "says the MGP-star. Few have had a higher workspeed than just Alexander the last couples of months. But he refuses to turn down the high speed. - I give everything and have no understanding for those who complain about how hard it is to be a artist. Think how much we experience and think how much we earn! We have no right to complain, says an outspoken Alexander to ”Her & Nå”.
He was one of the main attractions at Sunday's magnificent TV-collection to CARE. In NRK-studio he met, among others, the presenter Dan Børge Akerø, which Alexander gives the credit for that he got a flying start on his career - when he won the "Kjempesjansen". During the show the Grand Prix fiddle was auctioned. Alexander did, however, need some time before he decided to gave it to the auction- Not because I would not support a good cause, but because I was afraid someone would buy it for ”en tier” ( Norwegian expression, means something like ”a dime”) and then crush it!! reveals Alexander.

Translated with google but corrected where the meaning was lost
This is probably a quite “sober” review from a well known music journalist in Bergen.
Translation of review from Bergens Tidende 10.10.2009

pop
Alexander Rybak
Peer Gynt Salen
1 2 3 (4) 5 6 (rated 4 out of 6)
------------------------------------------------------
Mixed candy from young girls idol
---------------------------------------------------
Two and a half years ago Alexander Rybak was concertmaster in the Grieghall with the Young Symphony during Bergen International Festival. Friday evening the 23-year-old was back as popular musician with band and dancers.
But either someone have done a lousy job with marketing, or people have started to grow really tired. The concert was far from sold out. Although 8-900 people are not a bad audience with the competition in the concert market at the moment, it was fewer than expected, considering it was the first time in Bergen city since the victory in Eurovision Song Contest.
It is really a long time ago since I have seen such an age span among the audience at a pop concert. One could start to wonder if it was a Christmas party or a children’s show that was to take place in Grieghallen
There is no doubt that Rybak plays a lot of strings. Maybe a little too many. The concert was a strange mixture of Russian rocking songs, Nordic folk music, pop songs and easy classic. Rybak is a more than competent songwriter, but a red line binding it together is indeed not easy to find. All in all it falls together in some way, but just barely.
Much of the show is rescued by the man's Fiddling capacity and awkward stage charm.
Two dancers from the dance ensemble FRIKAR were also accompanying some of the numbers with jump, bounce and Hallingroll. Unfortunately, the scene in the Peer
Gynt Salen is so low that the public only could see the the highest jumps, and the
dancing seemed almost like an alibi in order to perform Fairytale most possible equal to the performance of Moscow.
Most of the debut album was of course played - Including Rolf Løvlands "Songs From A Secret Garden "and the hit" Funny Little World ". The old -Frankie Valli hit "Can’t take my eyes off you" came complete with the invitation of a girl from the audience on stage. But in this song Rybak also revealed large limitations. He is brilliant on the violin, but no Frank Sinatra, and it was almost purely bad towards the end of the song.
At the end of the concert the song everybody waited for came - Fairytale from Eurovision Song Contest. All the young girls in the audience were guaranteed happy. But I am in doubt if this is enough to build a career on.

Today the childrens show Tigerneten Club was broadcasted
http://www.kindernetz.de/tigerentenclub/tv/sendung/-/id=6392/nid=6392/did=148478/2xbmyx/index.html
I dont know how to put it from a dvd player to youtube, sorry.
He didnt perform, just answered questions and played the theme of this show after hearing it on a piano (an easy trick for a vionilist, I guess)
So are there new things?
The meaning of the song Fairytale is the fact that you cannot get away from your memories.
His fairytale now is visting Europe and meeting nice people...
He was asked what he likes the most:
singing easy songs with a piano and playing video games
Is there sth that you are bad in?
He said that he cannot draw (when he tries a Donald Duck ...it will look as an apple) and cannot cook (when he is alone and try it it doesnt taste goog)
The playing of the theme of the show was nice, he started to improvise, but was much too short.
He was involved in the Quiz show as well and seemed to be unconcentrated.
For example he called the frog puppet several times "crazy crocodile".
But of course he was great and cute and....like allways!!!:)

Alexander in "Good morning, Russia" 23.10.09
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d2X3-dcKVc
ManHost: It isn’t a morning, it’s a fairy tale, Fairytale, if you like. In that moment all fans of Alexander Rybak – sweet-voiced Belarusian-Norwegian performer - must have winced up.
WomanHost: I’ve been waiting for him for a long.
MH: Not only you. Meet your Rybak.
WH: Today our guest is Alexander Rybak.
*Plays fairytale
WH: Good morning, Sasha! Welcome!
AR: Thank you very much. Good morning.
MH: Good morning or “got morgn” as they say in Norway.
AR: God morgen.
MH: But we will talk in Russian.
AR: Yes, in Russian.
WH: Sasha, we know that you’ve come in Moscow for the very good and important reason – the anniversary of Alexandra Pakhmutova (Russian female-composer who has written many famous Soviet songs, she will be 80 years old in the beginning of November). What are you going to play there?
AR: I’m going to sing “Stariy klen” (“Old maple” the song written by Pakhmutova).
WH: Maybe you could sing a little of it now?
*Sings
WH: Thank you, Sasha.
MH: Sasha, for sure, you life has changed after Eurovision, after your victory, everybody knows you, absolutely, you are the image of Norwegian tourism in Russia, Fairytale sounds from everywhere. But doesn’t it upset you that you are known only by this song?
AR: It is called a HIT!
MH: Yes, absolutely.
AR: It’s the biggest dream of a composer to write a hit.
WH: And of a performer? Your biggest dream has come true, hasn’t it?
AR: Yes. As an artist – yes. I don’t think that there will be more of popularity than it is now.
MH: Actually, Sasha has many beautiful songs. I’ve been listening to your album. Dolphin, Funny little world, 13 horses – they are very nice lyrical songs.
AR: So, you like ballads?
MH: There is one more song that has been discussed in Russia – Abandoned.
AR: Yes, it’s built up upon a Russian song.
MH: Because it is similar with a song from a cult movie…
AR: It’s not a similar with, it’s what it is.
MH: It’s what it is – from “We'll Live Till Monday”. There were attempts to make a scandal out of it in here. Have you got some claims? How has this story got finished?
AR: It’s just a song which is on the cover of a disc… Ah! Here it is! (the original Russian version of Abandoned is playing) It’s written on a cover of the disc in Norway that it’s a Russian song translated into English language.
MH: So, you like the songs from those years – like “Old maple” and this one “Crane’s song”.
AR: Yes, and I hope that it is a pleasure for them (authors, probably).
MH: No, it’s a pleasure for all of us! I’ve been listening to it in my car and thinking – OMG, where does he know this song from - he even was not born then yet?
AR: But I just only know old Russian movies, old songs because I left Belarus when I was 5 years old, in 1991. And the only things I know of Russian culture are those which mama and papa have been showing me when we have been in Norway already.
MH: He left then but he almost came back now.
AR: You can say so, yes.
WH: You come to Moscow so often; don’t you want to buy a house in Russia?
AR: I like hotels.
WH: And to move up here for a while?
MH: Nastya wants you to live here forever.
AR: It’s very pleasant.
WH: Alexander before you came to our studio we caught you having a breakfast. You were eating pelmeni. I’m sorry but we are just in the know.
MH: Well, he likes pelmeni, so what?
WH: We have heard that you order pelmeni every time you come here. Doesn’t your mama cook it there, she probably knows how to.
AR: In Moscow?
WH: No, there where you live, in Norway.
AR: Ah! In Moscow… (laughs) No, in Norway there is another food. And when I’m in Russia I want to eat real Russian pelmeni. And we have almost nothing left of Russian cooking (dishes) there.
WH: And your mama does not cook anything of it?
AR: Sometimes kolduni. But it is a Belarusian dish.
MH: It’s Belarusian.
AR: Yes. I like it very much. And usually we eat taco, pizza – everything Scandinavian.
MH: Nastya wanted to ask you something but she doesn’t dare.
WH: I wanted. Do you realize it how is it for many girls who are really going crazy now? Really going crazy. In every mobile phone… Many have bookmarks with your picture on it in their books. And suddenly they have got to know that you perhaps have got a girlfriend. Is it true? That’s it?
MH: Don’t make girls and Nastya disappointed.
AR: Well, somebody says that I have a girlfriend, somebody says that I don’t. I don’t know whom to trust.
WH: And what do you say?
AR: Well, I have sometimes.
MH: Alexander, that’s unexpected. (laugh)
AR: So, I have a dream to find a girl who is a musician too.
WH: A musician too? Why?
MH: She should not be like the one in “Fairytale” to not fight with her, to be friends.
AR: It’s always better not to fight, but the most important is that we would be able… if to continue this performing life that we could go together on tours.
WH: Sasha, play something, please.
AR: Well, what to play?…
WH: Just imagine that people woke up at 5, 6, 7 in the morning.
MH: Alexander, something of Greeg(?), please. (joking)
AR: (laughs) To play or to sing? To play, yes?
WH: To sing and to play if you…
AR: To sing and to play and to dance… (laughs)
WH: We do not insist. It just how you feel like in this morning. What kind of morning people should have?
AR: Let’s play the Norwegian one then. Ole Bull.
*Plays violin
AR: Well, there are many more couplets there.
MH: And it’s true. This is what suburbs are like in Norway.
MH: Thank you, Alexander. Well, there is nothing to do – we have to let you go. But we don’t want to.
AR: I will come again.
MH: Come. You have promised, then come.
AR: With a pleasure.
MH&WH: Thank you, Sasha. Good luck. Have a nice day.
AR: You too.

Just a reminder: Since I have left this page, all the GREEK stuff I had translated / uploaded about A.R. can be found here, if any fan is still interested.

2) http://www.youtube.com/theYPchannel (TV REPORTS)
But I am not collecting more material. These pages will stay as they are right now. As a matter of fact the Youtube channel could die in any minute, I deleted the e-mail address I used to access it.

Swedish Radio
http://www.sr.se/webbradio/webbradio.asp?type=db&Id=2012307&BroadcastDate=&IsBlock=
-Alexander Rybak, are you tired of the song?
--No, absolutly not, I'm just tired in general.
-Oh, you're not tired of the song but a little tired yourself.
--Yes
-I did tell the radio audiance, now we are going to call and wake up Alexander.
--Yes but it's not that early really.
-No it's not that early the time is actally a quarter past twelwe Alexander.
--It's just me who have gotten spoiled with my bus. What is it called in Swedish spoiled[in English] well spoiled we say in Norway.
-Yes, you are sitting in the tour bus right now.
--I'm lying down.
-How nice.
--Because it's the middle of the night.
-Can you have it better.
--No I don't think so, especially after the concert on Monday, o my god it's so fun to see so many smiling faces.
-And that was in Stockholm at Circus Djurgården, how was it to play for a Swedish audience.
--It was very nice, now we have had many many concerts in Norway and in Ukraine and Belorussia where I'm from and there it's
really crazy, but I thought in Sweden people almost understand what I'm saying.
-Yes
--So I was wondering if everybody would understand me, and luckly they did, and everybody sang along, they know my songs,
it's really fun.
-But how many songs do you have that the audience know, it can't be more than two or three?
--Yes I don't have more but then I have many covers and many in the audience have bought my album.
-Yes of course, now there's a new concert tonight, you had a day free yesterday and now you're tired, what did you do then?
--Well I'm not tired, I have just slept alot.
-What did you do yesterday?
--I slept. Well often I have to get up at seven at night fot interviews and such so it's perfect that finally get to sleep.
-And then I call.
--Yesterday was my first free day since I don't know when, maybe two months.
-Has it been completely crazy since you won Eurovision song contest.
--Yes but crazy is the wrong word it's been perfect.
-Do you have the energy for this, you are a young person.
--Yes I have the energy, and then I get some resistanse once in awhile, some that are jealous.
-How hysterical is it around you, I'm thinking of girls.
--It's just nice, what do you say cosy[use Swedish word]
-Could you call it cosy[use Norwegian word]
--Yes cosy, I don't know, two yearsand then it's over.
-What can you say about tonights concert, do you know anything about Jönköping.
--No, dad has been there, dad has travelled around in Sweden.
-And played?
--Played in the streets actually.
-oho
--And he says Jönköping is one of Sweden's most beautyful towns.
-Wait now, your dad has been a street musician in Jönköping?
--Yes.
-What did he ply then?
--He plays violin.
-Yes
--But not anymore now he isn't a street musician anymore.
-What?
--He isn't a streetmusician but he was on somekind of vacation.
-How cool! I wonder where he stood, did he get any money, were the people in Jönköping generous?
--Eeh, I have to ask him.
-Will you play violin on a street in Jönköping when you come here?
--No.
-You don't have time.
--Unless the stage suddenly doesn't work, then I would have to have an outdoor concert, I don't think so.
-Jönköping is a town with musical history, I'm tinking of...
--Yes tell.
-Have you heard of Abba?
--Yes, yes, are they from there?
- The singer the blonde one Agnetha Fältskog.
--Yes, okay
-Then we have Cardigans. Cardigans?
--Yes I like Cardigans.
-They are also from Jönköping, and there are many more, so you know to where you come it's a musical town.
--I'm in good company, what is it called in Swedish? company?
-Company [Same word in Swedish and Norwegian]
--Perfect. If it get's as much noice as on Monday then I will be really pleased.
-Jönköping conert hall tonight starting 19.30 with a friend of yours, are you friends Brandur and you?
--We are starting to become that. He's very, very, very good at entertaining the audience, there's so much music in that boy.
-From the Faeroe Islands and competed inthe Swedish song contest with a fantastic song called Lullaby.
--Oh so he has already taken part
-You, well, a big band or a small band, orchestra, what are you bringing?
--I have four man orchestra.
-Yes
--And two dancers.
-And you got the violin with you.
--Yes, but then I have a light technician, a sound technician and all that.
-I understand but on stage there are four musicians totally and two dancers.
--And me.
-So you're there to.You're fantastic at, in Swedish you can say you are a swine at playing violin.
--(laughter)
-You can say so in Swedish, you're fantasic your cruel["grym" means very good in this context] at violin.
--So you have heard me that's good.
-You're a swine on the violin, but don't say that I said that because it might sound a bit strange. but you're really good, will
it be a lot of violin and your noble kind of music tonight?
--Yes absolutely, the most importent thing I just want to entertain, I'm more of an entertainer than a singer.
-Entertainer and fiddler (Speleman/spilleman).
--The most importent thing for me is to tell a story
-And you will do that tonight.
--Yes, many stories.
-Do you have any idea where you are right now?
--On a bus.
-Aha how suprised I got.
--On the way to Jönköping from Stockholm.
-And you can't say exactly wher youare right now?
--No.
-Look for a sign that says Ödeshög.
--Okay.
-I was born there.
--Then I have to put on my glasses.
-Alexander Rybak I wont disturb you anymore, you can continue your rest.
--It was nice to talk with you.
-Funny little world does that sound familiar?
--Really nice.

Alexander is donating his fiddle wich he used in ESC to this year`s TV campaign in Norway
http://www.seher.no/826147/rybak-gir-bort-fela
Translation from Google:
Soon this year's TV campaign, which this year goes to the organization CARE, and the occasion has Alexander Rybak (23) elected to donate over himself Grand Prix fiddle say, newspaper VG reports.
- This is an object for young girls that has basin far outside Norway. It's probably worth very much money, "said presenter and auctioneer in the TV action, Rune Gokstad to VG.
After the VG learned Rybak winning fiddler is Italian and from the 1820's. It will have been worth about 80 000 kroner when Rybak took it in use for about two years ago, and the newspaper estimated that it has risen significantly in value since.
Rybak is not the only celebrity who has chosen to support the TV action. Friday it became known that Petter Stordalen donates away for a run with him, while dekkongen Tommy Sharif donate away his magic calculator

Since there have been no reports about the concert in Bergen, I'll give you some info.
The concert was mentioned in the paper editions of both BA and BT, the main newspapers in Bergen, but not on the internet.
What was especially mentioned was the audience. Cause there were people of all ages from small children to 90 year olds, very rarely seen at a pop concert.
The stage in Bergen was very low, so the show with Frikar was impossible to get, only the very highest jumps could be seen. Alexanders performance was good,
I really enjoyed it. It was not sold out, 800 people, I think the capacity was 1200. But this I think was due to no marketing. I did not see a single add for
the concert. I was searching for some other tickets, when I accidentially saw that Alexander was having a concert in Bergen.

Interview in Latvia 8.10.09
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdAPINoNvC8
Journalist: In Thursday’s evening Alexander Rybak performed at the night club Godvil. Before the concert he had a press-conference where he has got a Rubik’s cube from fans from Hungary and right after that he gave an interview to our program. In particular he answered the question about his coming soon wedding.
Alex: I have dated a girl a couple of times, and right away Norwegians papers started to write that I’m going to live with her now. I think that the papers are very impatient, they want everything to happen very quickly. *Looking at his phone* -I don’t get it what has happened here. *To the reporter* - So, sorry!
Journalist: Though Alexander Rybak has no a constant girlfriend he nevertheless thinks about his spawn. And unlike his parents, he’s not going to push his children to play violin.
Alex: The most desirable is that a kid would like to try something by himself. But if it will not be like that then I’ll take over an initiative and – maybe he likes to play basketball or maybe he likes to dance – I’ll check it out quickly if he likes it… she… and if don’t then I will not push.
Journalist: Alexander was born in Belarus but has been living in Norway since he was five. He speaks Russian fairly well but he does not know abusive language. And he has missed to know about it when he was at the ESC in Moscow.
Alex: Well, I have been there with cultured people, or we have been at a hotel with our group. Or I have been meeting Carola from Sweden, Kirkorov and he definitely has not been teaching me any words. *swearing in Norwegian*
Journalist: Alexander was so open and easy guy to communicate with that he didn’t mind to sing a snippet of his main hit when we asked him to. And he sang it great.
*singing Fairytale*

In the first link, this is the most interesting thing: "- There is a humor program, so it becomes a bit silly and nonsense. Det som skjer i lørdagens program er at de har laget en musikkvideo hvor Erik Solbakken er utkledd som Rybaks svenske kjæreste men blond parykk, forteller NRKs pressekontakt Mette Skjong til nettstedet. It happens in Saturday's program is that they have made a music video where Erik Solbakken is dressed as Rybak Swedish boyfriend but the blond wig, "says NRK's media contact Mette Skjong to the site."
We know now what will be the joke. But in this article, they say that Moa is swedish :P

Another article on the Ari Behn book. It is all pretty harmless. Behn is known in Norway for linking real people into his novels, for he knows it will lead to press when he has a bookrelease. The most "sensational" here is Per Sundnes, who actually knows Alexander, comment :
"GP-General Per Sundnes read yesterday several excerpts from Ari Behn's book, and admits that he sees similarities between "Tunes-Per" and the media image that is created of Rybak. - Looking at the media phenomenon Rybak, you can say that it is similar. But I see the differences because I know him well. The novelcharacter seems more adult (!) - and more media aware than Alexander - even though he might been it too when he invited all to Gardermoen after the Eurovision victory, "said Sundnes.

A Finnish newspaper “Kaupunkisanomat” had today an article about Alex.

It’s title was: Alexander Rybak – lovely talent…
Hearts were captured also in press conference of the concert (= Elämä Lapselle). Female Journalists almost purr. They need much time for his interview, although they wrote only a short article….
You can read this in page 7 (but only in Finnish):
Main parts freely translated.
Alexander's autographs were very desired and the artist wrote them with smile.
On the day after concert three ten years old girls were almost in nirvana. They squeezed about A4 size papers in their hands. They all have a photo of Alexander. Inside a shopping mall there was a long line consisting of teenagers. I was not hard to quess who was signing autographs there (my own comment: there were also others than teenagers :-).
Fairytale
Rybak won ESC with 389 points. Norwegian folk music has influenced Fairytale and the song was original enough. The song differentiated itself from the other songs already in the previews and not only because of the cute artist. Rybak's debut album Fairytales has been sold in 25 European countries. It has been sold triple platinum in Norway in a couple of months, gold in Sweden and platinum in Russia.
In Norway Rybak has also made history occupying the two top places at chart, Fairytale at number one and Funny Little World at number two.
On tour
Because of the win in ESC Rybak has been playing in many countries. Also in Finland he has visited more than once creating hysteria. In Norway he has been in front of more than 200.000 people during his 40 shows. During his tour starting on October and lasting till DecemberRybak will perform in arenas having 1000 - 4000 spectators.
Shooting Star or Super Star?
Only ABBA and Celine Dion have made a long career after ESC win. How will it be with Alexander Rybak? The time will show if he is only a short living shooting star or will this be a start for a long glorious career.
A Finnish newspaper “Kaupunkisanomat” had today an article about Alex.
http://www2.lehtiluukku.fi/reader_f?dt=MTI1NTExMjY5OS0yMzE3LTEwNTUwYzQ4NDFmMzc5NzlkNzU4ZWJlNTA5M2ZmOGQ3&da=b83c7fafdbc2e31a9fa9c130dc84e375&ti=S2F1cHVua2lzYW5vbWF0
It’s title was: Alexander Rybak – lovely talent…
Hearts were captured also in press conference of the concert (= Elämä Lapselle). Female Journalists almost purr. They need much time for his interview, although they wrote only a short article….
You can read this in page 7 (but only in Finnish):

Translation.
Boy (B): And now another star.
Girl (G): Absolute. After some time ago we showed stuff about Alexander Rybak, our mailbox was full, because of so many fans would meet him. And today we answer yours wishes.
B: Let´s show him. Here he´s sitting.
Hallo, welcome. How are you?
Alex: Nice to meet you.
B: Remember we´re live.
Alex: Yes. For me it is very strange because of I understand the language, but I cannot speak it.
G: You understand, but you don´t speak.
B: At first we will check who you are, where are you from and why are you so popularly; why everyone want to see/watch you.
Alex: In this monitor? G,B: Yes.
[It follows a short report about Alex]
Voice in background:
Alexander Rybak: singer, violinist, composer. He´s born in former Soviet Union, sine 20 years he lives in Norway (lie!), this year´s winner of ESC. His first single is the number one on all Scandinavian charts (again not truth!) since several weeks. Now, he´s trying to take over the rest of Europe with his new CD, thereby Poland.
Music journalist:
He hasn´t an earring, he hasn´t a Mohawk haircut; He has nice, smooth combed hairs; he has good buttoned shirt, waistcoat or jacket. With another clothes he doesn´t act and the same he is on his CD´s covers. That appeals to.
Voice in background:
The whole summer Alexander travelled in Norway, where he had more than 40 concerts for more than 200.000 people. Alexander is a true musician. He plays not only violin, he graduated a piano, too. In Oslo we visited a school, where Alexander during years grooved his skills.
Today his teacher is sure...
Stephan Barratt-Due:
He was always very talented and what is most important very hardworking. Despite the success he doesn´t forget, that his roots is classical music.
------------------------
B: O.K. here he is, again, Alexander Rybak.
Alex: You have a video on me? Then I did understand a little bit false, what would be going on.
B: Yes. Never mind, it´s live program. We´ll manage it.
You´re born in Belarus, but you´re Norwegian?
Alex: I´m from Belarus, but I live in Norway.
G: You´re parents left Belarus, when you were 5 years old...
Alex: Yes 5 or 6.
G: Then you started study at music school...
Alex: Yes I was 14 or 15 years old when I started with music school.
B: And then after all those schools and studies you won ESC in Moscow, where you represented Norway...
Alex: Yes that was very nice to me and it was funny to use native language.
G: And after the song contest, has your live become a fairytale, like a title of your song?
Alex: When fairytales include princes and dragons, then my live isn´t it. But I´m in strange situation, I have very special live; I´m happy about, I enjoy it, then I´m getting paid for fun.
B: So you still have fun by work. Were you prepared for such popularity, fame and so many girls?
Alex: I worked hard for it; I knew what could come out. I´m just surprise, that the people care about me, also after Eurovision; I thought, I will be just for entertainment during the contest, but I have still fans, especially in Scandinavian.
B: Here in Poland you have lots of them, too, believe me.
Alex: Wow!
B,G: Yes, lots of fans.
G: What about your parents, because they are musicians, too? Do they like what you do now?
Alex: Yes, I think they are pretty satisfied. They pushed me to practise when I was young.
G: They pushed you to practise the violin and piano
Alex: Yes. Of course first aim was I have become a classical violinist, but I wasn´t became.
G: And something about your outfit. Alex: My outfit?
G: Because whenever I look at you, you look so perfect. You wear white t-shirts with some vests only; it´s very classic; Do you have a stylist or it´s your idea?
Alex: The people try to make me stylish dressed. But I choice what I like, what is very simple, like vests. I don´t need to do what they´re pouting. I play a violin I cannot wear suit.
B: And now about socks. White socks remind me Michael Jackson style...
Alexander: And that just reminds me, that I still forget about something. Then I have several socks and shoes with me but I forgot to wear them.
B: But Michael Jackson is your idol...
Alex: Because of white socks?
B: Not because of it...
Alex: Yes that´s right, he is my big idol.
G: What about a white glove...
B: And also we heard about, that you´re in love? With Natalie Portman?
Alex: Yes...
B: Is that your girlfriend? Does she know that?
Alex: It would be very nice, if she knows that. But here in Poland you have a girl, who resembles very Natalie Portman. She spokes with me before this show. Her name is Ania.
B: We find her. Thank you very much for coming.
G: We´re waiting for your performance and your concert.

- From Norwegian Dagbladet 26.09.09. Alexander sends his greetings to Jahn Teigen who turned 60 on 27.09.09. Jahn Teigen is very famous in Norway. He also sang at the Rådhusplassen concert, remember ?
Alexander Rybak (23) :
"You are one of the few artists who have been genuine and believable throughout the career. The medley from Grand Prix last year, is the coolest I've ever seen on a stage in Norway. Nothing will change now that you have turned 60 years. You were a legend already with your first song. Happy birthday, Jahn Teigen! "

- A humoristic little article about Alexander/Sundnes from Norwegian Dagbladet 26.09.09:
"Alexander Rybak has a lot to struggle with: a odd look, eccentric nature - and the one to blame for that NRK had to sell the World Cup, and now finally increase the license. It is very cruel, all the time; Per Sundnes is the man who long ago have taken credit for the national-doll-man's Moscow triumph. He changed the song (to more ompa-ompa like), coached Rybak in stageperformance and contacted the dancetroop Frikar. The next scandalarticle about the MGP-final should therefore be illustrated with a picture of Sundnes. Honor those who honor should."
