Malvin took care of Alexander Rybak:
"You are like a father to me"

Roaming the roads! A year ago, a broke Alexander Rybak went roaming around Sunnmøre. Malvin opened his home to the unknown fiddler.

Exactly one year ago, Norway's new superstar Alexander Rybak was roaming around the hillsides outside Ålesund. He was virtually unknown, and played his violin for something to eat and a place to sleep. On the island Giske he met Malvin H. Fauske, who took care of the young boy.
- He has become like a father to me. Like a Giske-father, Alexander Rybak smiles at Se&Hør.
- I was out riding my bicycle when a guy with a violin on his back stopped me asking where he was. He was looking for a place to spend the night and would not mind playing for me. I told him than I didn't care for violin music, but that he was welcome to come with me, Malvin says.
Not mysterious
This weekend Alexander was back at Giske, where the hit Fairytale was created, as the main attraction at the Sommerfesten (Summer party). He would rather stay with his friend than at a hotel. - Having a base is much better. And because I have kept in touch with Malvin, I could stay there. But I have visited all the others that I stayed with too, says Alexander.
A lot has happened since July last year, but Alexander is still the same nice, sympathetic boy. - It is possible that this makes me not very mysterious, but I prefer being like this, he says.
Malvin says that the ESC-star has not changed much. - He is the same. The only thing that has changed is the haircut. It is nice having him on a visit, Malvin says.
