A Hank von Helvete, with good make-up, the guys from Absolom, child celebrities The Animal and Grand Prix winner Alexander Rybak, are among the ingredients when Sami Ministry TV makes its new series "Gula", which takes brief looks at the world of music.
The four mentioned and a handful of other Norwegian, Swedish, Sami, Finnish and Russian artists contributing include explanations of what music really is, how to find good band names and so on.
Expert Commentators
It's NRK-trio Elle Marja Eira, Morten Pettersen and Dragan Čubrilo, who is behind the production. Throughout the summer, they visited the festivals Skiippagurra, Midnight Rokken, Riddu Riddu, Màrkomeannu, Varangerfestival and Døgnvill, in search of expert commentators.
A total of 11 music programs helps to fill Ministry of TV's Monday broadcast on NRK1, 14 September to late November.
- It is a small, simple music program for 14 minutes, where the focus is children and youth. In each application, we follow different musical Sami people and let them ask questions that our "music experts" answer, "says Eira.
During the session in connection with Døgnvill in Tromsø last weekend, it was Aslak Dørum and Sola Jonsen of Jack Johnson who was recorded.
- Both these two and the other older artists had a challenge when they should explain music and musical expression for children. It was not easy, but both Dørum / Oscar and the others did it really good.
Also Alexander Rybak lined up under Døgnvill, and for this episode, there was made a very special script. The details will be a secret, but Eira played a stormy-in - love music fan who finally gets to meet her hero.
- Hank von Helvete was also a special experience. He stood in full makeup, and was just simply a wonderful person to have in front of the camera. A really nice teddy bear, "said Morten Pettersen.
- Has it been fun to work with this?
- Very funny. Not at least because you also learn a lot , ends Eira.
