ESC winner cares of his fans
The overwhelming winner, of the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 Norwegian Alexander Rybak is much more than a cute, smiling, singing violin player.

After Elämä lapselle concert in Helsinki last week Alexander cleared space in his schedule for a visit to the unique Kruununhaka junior high school. Rybak's winning song had a completely new interpretation which made the winner sigh for satisfaction!
Hard-working trainee
Winning the ESC was a small reward to Alexander for the hard training and studying music. Alexander was born in Belarus and his mother is a pianist and his father a violinist. They made Alexander to practice every day. At the age of five Alexander and his family emigrated to Norway. It took Alexander for a long time to realize that in Norway children are not training as much as he does.
"I was nine or ten years old when I realized that it was not a normal practice to play two to three hours a day. Then my parents started to bribe me with candy and gifts, and it helped very much", Alexander remembers laughing.
Since age of ten Alexander studied at the Barrat Due Academy of music. He is the concert master of the largest youth symphony orchestra, Ung Symfonia. He was also awarded the prestigious Hedda prize by his appearance in musical Fiddler on the Roof.
