Alexander Rybak is full of charm, but you would not want him for a neighbor.
The brown eyes can charm right through the screens and into the country's TV lounges. He has x-factor in buckets and bins. He has taken the nation by storm and is our major international Grand Prix hope.

With musician parents from Belarus, the way was early set for Alexander.

- Over there, the upbringing is stricter than we are accustomed to in Norway. Culture is completely different. My parents had great ambitions on my behalf, and they probably pushed me from a young age. I 'm glad, they did. Research has shown that after a certain time, it is too late to learn some things. That stuff happens in the brain continuously, so that "time gates" closes, "he explains eagerly.

- After four years, for example, there are some things it will be too late to learn.

There was not just joy in the living room when Alexander began to flirt with other musical genres than the classic.

- To begin with, there was some dissatisfaction, but after a while we became friends again, "he says and laughs.

The story behind "Fairytale" is as fascinating as the artist himself.

- I went around in Giske municipality throughout the summer, knocked on doors and played to people for food and lodging. While I was at Vigra, the largest of the islands in the community, I began to hum the melody. So, I added fiddling, and finally the text.

The result is this year's Grand Prix-favorite. The song is known, to be inspired by Alexanders first, great love.
- It's five years ago now. We stayed in a hotel, the night I finally broke up. We lay and cried together until we fell asleep and as I woke up, she was crying. It is the most painful I've experienced.

Since she was my first love, I assume that I wondered a bit how my second love came to be. We were young, "said Alexander on why it was done.

The Charmer has already gathered a huge amount of fans, and many wonder if he is still single.
- Yes, I am single, and I want to be credible when I sing this song. I can not really go around and sing about my first love, while I have wife and children at home. Right now it fits so perfectly to be single, he says, before adding that he naturally hopes to find love again at a later date.

Alexander oozes energy and joy on stage, but how is he when the stage lights turn off?

- You see, there is not much glamour here, "says Alexander, pointing to the usual white and black striped sweater.

Blue-grey jeans and black jacket emphasizes the impression of a young man who does not exactly scream for attention in the way of clothing.

- On the stage, I am very energy filled. Almost "too much". You could say that I speak from the stage. Privately, I'm different. There I don´t need to stand in the center. I like much better to be the listener than the speaker, "he said.

- Many creative people have large fluctuations in mood and feelings. How do you see yourself?

- I get glad and sad like all others, but out among the people I always keep myself together. I am so glad and grateful when I get to be with other people, that I never would crack among people. When I'm home for myself, it is different. There I can have some odd ways.

Alexander laughs.
- For example, if I can not sleep, I leave the bed and punches the wall - until I don´t have energy left.
We should hope Alexander can sleep well in the future. He has a continent to conqer. . Europe has already woken up ...
