Melodi Grand Prix winner and the currently most popular artist in Norway, Alexander Rybak, has a tight and packed calendar for the time being. But he is still just as sweet as, people know him to be.

- It is wonderful to travel around like this, and now I am very excited to come to the Viking Festival, "says Rybak, who, so far, have had good experiences around the small towns in the countryside.

- I have chosen to visist the smaller places, this summer, so I get to experience and see most of the outskirts of Norway. The larger places can come, gradually, after that. I was recently at Frøya for the festival, and it was fantastic to play there. It was a good atmosphere, and I was actually getting an Astrid Lindgren-feeling of being there. I hope it becomes a bit like that in Steinkjer too, "says the musician.

Thursday evening, he stands on stage during the Viking festival opening concert, and there has been a hard battle among the audience, to get tickets to experience their favorite.

Time to breathe, after the concert, he will probably not get. He will go directly to Belarus for a new assignment, before he returns to Steinkjer and the Viking Festival on Saturday to attend the evening events, along with, among others, Steinar Albrigtsen and Viggo Sandvik.

- Isn´t it a very high speed for you?

- He he, yes but it will be fine, "says Rybak, and claims that he is not going to let himself get worn out after the ESC-victory and the subsequent hysteria, which you could almost call it.

- I'm just glad, and not tired. You're sick, sometimes, of course, but that hits everybody.

- Do you have any relation to the Vikings?

- No, they lived just a little before my time, but I think it is very exciting with both the Vikings, pirates and trolls, ends Alexander Rybak.
