"I very much wished to study in Moscow"

His triumphal victory on "ESC-2009" in Moscow is worthy entering in the book of records of Guinnes. Never before 150-billion audience of this competition was so unanimous. And after all the Belorussian with the Norwegian passport Alexander Rybak could support Russia if eight years ago circumstances have developed in another way. About it and many other things our special correspondent has talked to the singer at the International festival of arts "Slavyansky bazar" in Vitebsk where Alexander Rybak was, apparently, the most eminent visitor.

- Sasha when your parents have emigrated on the West why have chosen small northern country, instead of larger Germany, France or solar Italy?
- It has turned out casually, but we aren't sorry. The daddy worked in the Minsk chamber orchestra. In 1991 he was on tours in Norway. There he has met and has become friends with very rich family. They have invited him to learn their children to music and took to live to itself simply. The daddy has received residence permit and two years saved money for the first payment of the hypothecary credit that also mum, and I could arrive to it. At first we lived in the small house, have then changed it for more spacious. Then moved once again. Very much it is pleasant to us in the north. When the long winter at last is replaced in the summer — the nature there blossoms fantastically.
— You have got to another's country at preschool age. Local children teased you for accent?
— First two years I didn't have friends in general because nobody understood that I speak. The loneliness fine oppressed me. I can't be without communication. For the child it is very strong motivation, and I have quickly learnt language. Already in the second class I spoke Norvegian better, than my contemporaries, as they say, as natives.
— And at whom it has turned out to adapt faster, at you or at parents?
— At me, certainly. It is always easier for child to study, than the adult. The daddy and mum now speak Norvegian quite tolerable. Approximately how I in Russian or English. And in Russian they continue to speak perfectly well. I am grateful to parents that all these years in our family Russian speech sounded, and I am attached to great Russian culture.
— You practise music from 5 years old. Considering that you are now 23 it is already decent experience...
— In Russia are surprised, when I tell, how rehearsed in the childhood much. But I always thought that in it was an essence of Russian school. When in Norway I was engaged every day for three-four hours, and other children walked in the street was upset me to tears. Asked mum: why I am locked up and I stick as unbearable? And she answered me: the sonny, all children so live in Russia.
— In 15 years you came to Moscow to the known teacher, played a re-minor violin concert of Sibelius and have impressed favourably. Why didn't remain to study in the Russian capital?
— The plan was easy — to arrive to Moscow for a week. We with my friend-Norwegian lived in a family of Muscovites. And at this time their children-musicians stayed with us in Norway. Such here a mutual exchange. Moscow very much was pleasant for me. Red Square has shaken by magnificence. And I fluctuated, to remain for study in Russia or not. But on the family council it has been decided not to risk. I already felt in Norway like a duck to water, and I did not have reasons to move in other country.
— You participated in work of the Norwegian variant of "Factory of stars». What to you has given this experience?
— It was in 2005. In Norway such show is called "Idol". Producers have decided that I not interesting and without perspective, therefore further a semi-final have not started up. Between us speaking, I have suffered prolonged anxiety and have acted awfully. But I has come much SMS from strangers, and I rejoiced with all the heart. By the way, one girl who now in Norway is considered the most beautiful singer that time has won. We have then faced it in the Norwegian selection round of "Eurovision". For it has voted 120 thousand spectators, for me — 800 thousand. And I have gone to Moscow.
— Since winter the largest bookmaker offices of Europe accepted rates on Alexander Rybak as on the favourite of "ESC-2009". And you have risked to earn on the future victory?
— No. I am the person not the hazardous. Besides, till the latest moment it was impossible to tell for certain who will win. However, I have put on others participants. Till 20-30 crones. Money — purely symbolical (laughs).
— In victorious song Fairytale ("Fairy tale") you have told the story of the first love. «Every day we started fighting, / Every night we fell in love. / Nobody could make me sadder, / And nobody could lift me high above». Whether it was necessary to take out it on a general review?
— What in it reprehensible? When the person has composed a song about love it would like that it was heard by as much as possible people. Why people marry, arrange magnificent weddings? They want, that all knew that they are enamoured. Why about unfortunate love it is necessary to be silent?
— You would like, that thrown you Ingrid Berg Mehus, 21-year-old violinist from suburb Oslo, has heard this song?
— Very much it would be desirable. But not that it to me has returned. The broken pots not to stick together.
— And what was effect? She has called you?
— No. To me has not called, but has called in all newspapers. And now in Norway it very popular person.
— You has offended, what she has sold your joint photos in press?
— Photos were quite decent, any frivolities. They in any way don't compromise me. But at first I was upset. Sadly that my first love so has changed. I knew that Ingrid has earned 20 thousand dollars, trading to press our history. But has then thought and has solved: let, I after all too receive money for a song about it.
— In Moscow didn't you afraid to compete with such celebrities as Patricia Kaas?
— The youth in Norway doesn't know, who is Patricia Kaas. It is in Russia taht she is the favourite of public. But when Lloyd Webber has approached to me, I from delight hardly have not lost a speech power. He has suggested to me to sing in his new musical.
— What for a role?
— He has not told. We had not time to discuss a detail. I needed to run on a scene, then another, the third... I Hope that the great British will communicate with me. I with pleasure would work with him.
— Some singers that acted on "Eurovision", again pulls there after years. And you have a desire to return?
— If someone breaks my record in 387 points, I, of course, again will go to return myself superiority (laughs).
— Among the Russian professionals of a showbusiness it is accepted to abuse "Eurovision". Say, it is amateur performance competition after which seldom what winner joins professional showbusiness. And an agiotage around this action is unreasonable increased. You don't consider so?
— If you about it have asked me three years ago, I too would scold "Eurovision". But when I have composed "Fairytale" and began to reflect, on what competition it to show, except "Eurovision" of other variants was not. So it was possible to sound most powerfully. You saw my number? It was pleasant to you? My level has not disappointed you? Yes, on "Eurovision" there were times when won odious freeks which took scandalous suits and frivolous songs, but after Dima Bilan victory the situation has changed for the better. All in a life can be altered. There would be a desire.
— It is said that in Moscow to you have suggested to write down a duet with Dima Bilan. But you have ostensibly refused flatly. Why?
— I have not refused. Simply a duet it is necessary to prepare, search long for a suitable song, to rehearse, write down. And at me now simply is not present for this time. Believe, for my part it not arrogance. Dima — the excellent singer. I would have sung with him with pleasure.
Here, for example, to Vitebsk I have arrived in the unique day off. Both last night, and tomorrow I have concerts in Norway. As though it is not enough me there paid, but the arrangement cannot be broken. I try to please all.
— Whether the truth, what because of rough concert activity to you was necessary to postpone the conservatory termination in Oslo?
— Yes. I should defend the diploma in May, but, I am afraid, will pass a lot of time before it will occur. The conservatoire diploma — only a paper that people could tell: yes, you have the right to work in the academic orchestra. But I already have a work and my spectator.
— You already became the man of means? On one only ringtones — melodies for mobile phones it is possible to earn millions dollars...
— Aha. Wish to talk about money?
— This theme confuses you?
— No. I am glad that to me now pay for that, for what several years ago I was ready to pay. I very much appreciate possibility of contact to a huge audience.
— And that for a discomfiture has happened at you with Oprah Winfrey — the richest TV presenter of the world. She has called you to herself on show to America, and you have not gone. I do not know the actor who would refuse to it.
— And what I have forgotten on this show? Well, would arrive, «How are you?», and were drilling about any nonsense. That is all. If only time has in vain lost. My ambitions to America do not extend. It is much more interesting for me to be the big star in the small country, than tiny — in huge.
— I heard that the Russian composer Alexander Zatsepin who now lives in France, called to yours father and offered new songs for you...
- There are we called him to Paris. We very much like his song about bears from a film «Caucasian captive». We wished to translate it into English, to make modern arrangement and to include in my debut CD. Zatsepin has allowed it to make. But we have not made progress in terms. Anything. I will accustom to drinking about bears next time.
— And other composers addressed to you or you stake on the composer creativity?
— Yes, the truth. The request to Zatsepin — an exception. I dream to take place as the composer. Years through five-six I will cease to be an idol for teenagers, I marry, children will go. Here will have no time for tours. And if I will become the known composer I can write music for movies. But while I was not sang more many and have not played enough.
— And where you are going to search for the wife — in Belarus or Norway?
— I do not know yet. I search now not so actively. My heart is open for new feeling. Only so, I think, it is possible to meet a true love.
— When after a concert spotlights die away and you go home or walk on streets, whether happens to you sadly, what around people who show to you too much attention constantly crowd?
— For me, on the contrary, sadly if nearby there is nobody. After concerts I always communicate with admirers who wait for me at an office exit. Here yesterday after a concert in Norway there was a crowd of the person about fifty ones. I have not left, while to all have not distributed autographs. The hand has got tired, but pleasure has received the huge. If I did not like to be the focus of attention, so I, probably, never would become the actor.
— You are the Belorussian, speak Russian, live in Norway. What in your understanding means to be the European?
— For me with it all is simple. Belarus — my native land. And I have grown in Norway where there live cheerful, benevolent people. And if I manage to connect free slavic spirit and the Scandinavian rationalism, to me it will be easy, where I veins.
