THE NORWEGIAN THEATRE(AP) Alexander Rybak says he was looking forward “ madly” to the World Cup, and understands, that people react to the news, that NRK sold the TV-rights.

This is the case:
* Viasat aiming big on football, will launch the channel Viasat Football 15 September. The channel will cost 199 kroner per month.

* Viasat have purchased the rights to half the matches in the World Cup in South Africa in the summer of 2010 from BBC News. Thus will the games from the World Cup be divided between Viasat and TV 2 It is currently uncertain how much of the fighting from the World Cup which will go on pay TV.

-“ What? Can we not seen the World Cup on NRK? “

So sounds Alexander Rybaks first reaction when VG Nett ask what he thinks about the state channel has sold the rights to Viasat.

Rybak won the famous international final of the Eurovision Song Contest with crushing point-digits on the night of 17 May this year. Therefore, it was also clear that next year's finals will be held in Norway, by the NRK. Culture Minister Trond Giske said earlier this year, that he believed 150 million was an appropriate charge for arranging the giant finale show.
NRK will, from what VG Nett has learned, not let this bill go right to the license payer, and therefore must cut other costs. It was partly the World Cup in South Africa next summer.

- “I understand that people react to this. Personally, I am one of the many who looks forward to the World Cup madness, but I will probably be able to find a way to see it" says Rybak to VG Nett.

Norwegian Grand Prix guru Per Sundnes says, he is glad he did not have anything with these decisions to do, but admits he would like to have it both ways, both the Grand Prix Final and World Cup on NRK.

- I understand of course that some do not like, the rights to the World Cup have been sold. Football fans think the World Cup is more fun.

- Can the Eurovision be as good a show as a World Cup?

- “I will not say, for this is about taste. But we get to profile Norway towards the world through the Eurovision, and we are not very familiar to do that in the World Cup, "he says and grins.

Rybak is sure, that he will get to see the World Cup, no matter what channel it is sent on.

- I am very happy and proud to have made the Eurovision Song Contest be held in Norway, so we can show, what we capable of Then we, who likes football must find a way to get to see the World Cup, "he says.
