Short interview from Alex’s visit to ukrainian show “Ukraine’s got a talent” on 26.06.09.

Narrator: Eurovision star – Alexander Rybak - was invited for the final show of “Ukraine’s got a talent” The camera crew was worried about possibility of his participation till the last moment. His participation has got under the threat of disruption because of extremely rough weather.

A guy with glasses: Sasha has got very tight schedule nowadays, he had a concert in Spain earlier on the day he arrived to us. He had to be landed in Borispole at 9.30 p.m. and the show was already on air at that time. And 1 minute or 5 minutes were as valuable as gold for us. So we came in Borispole and I looked up at the sky and it was pitch black. I’ve made a phone call and asked – guys, where is a board (Alex’s plane)? -The board is in 8 km from Kiev now and it is landing. I said – will they land (safely)? -I don’t know they’ll try.

Narrator: While the singer was expected on the land, in the sky he was watching performances of the contestants and he was very surprised.

Alex: We have the same show in Norway but we just do not have enough talents (laughing), and here - it is just incredible – they are all of so many different genres here – they dance, draw with sand – generally incredible. There are good shows in Norway where you only have to sing, we have a lot of very good singers. We don’t have such a discipline as here in Ukraine. I like all of them (contestants) very much.

Narrator: On the set they still didn’t know would Alexander be able to land but it was clear that he was going to be late. Just 20 minutes before the moment he had to show up on the stage Alexander finally had arrived to the set place. The preparation for his performance was going on in haste during a commercial break. And thanks to professionalism and strong desire to make a qualitative show – everything went perfectly.
