GP-Alexander clears his scedule for school orchestra

Alexander Rybak clearing away all other agreements to be a teacher for summer school orchestra in Ålesund. Now he will return for the third time.

- Students are super enthusiastic about it. And if he wins in Moscow, it properly will "take off" laughs artistic director Rune Bergmann.

Hijack winner
It was he who asked the talented young musician from Nesodden to come to Summer School on the Borg Folkehøgskole in Ålesund, for teaching young string players.

- I would speculate on what we needed to orkester school, when I saw him win Kjempesjansen for NRK. So I hurry to make contact, "says Bergmann.

Rybak hesitated a little to say yes.

- He had never taught before, and was not sure if he coyld handle it. But I said that we had experienced teachers, and needed new inspiration.

- So he came, to everyone's great excitement. Rybak is both a "sprellemann" (a person who likes to joke) and a "spellemann" (a musican) , and a very likeable musican to be with.

- He enjoyed it very well, he also, and told that teaching others had opened a new world, "says Bergmann.

Requested to join
Conductor had a plan to have a new celebrity each year, and had actually other names on the list last year.

- But when Alexander called , and was wondering if we had not planned to take him this time? And when we asked the students what to do, there was not much doubt, "says Bergmann, who hired the fiddleplayer for the second time.

Modest salary
This year, he received one more call from Rybak, who would have the date of the Summer School, so he could clear space in the content-rich schedule.

- I said that when he had to accept the same conditions as other members of the Summer School when it comes to wages. We have not a big budget . But it was okay for Alexander.

- This will suely be this year's worst well-paid job for the him, laughs Bergmann, he is excited to have the popular fiddleplayer in the school orchestra this year too
