Old, but nice an cute radiointerview of Alexander. The main reason for posting it, is the interesting conversation after the "La det svinge" song :-)

Radiointerview of Alexander on "Nitimen" NRK before Moscow.

(Alexander laughs)

Interviewer: Alexander Rybak, what do you have with you in the bag?

Alexander: It's (eats) things that I have received from Anja.

In: Who is Anja?

A: From NRK. There is an apple and when we have pear, banana, orange, and so we have nasalspray.

I: I see. So Alexander Rybak, you come into the studio here with a large platter with grapes, and you have a kind of lunchbag. It is full of fruit, there you have those ”5 a day” (Norwegian expression for the desired fruit intake per day) ...

A: Yes, and then there are some who are here with palmleafs and waves over me (both laugh, he is kidding, exaggerating the conditions to show that he thinks he is being spoiled in the NRK )

I: But you have these things with you because it is important now before Moscow to be with good health.

A: Yes

I: Yes, so you take care of yourself?

A: Yes, and I try to do it myself, I try not to get people to run around for me and stuff. But occasionally, there are some days, like when I'm at NRK for a whole day without being allowed to go out (laughs), when people are very nice to me and buys me tings, like now I got nasalspray.

In: Are you a little allergic, in the spring?

A: No, I'm just a little like…I have a very poor immunesystem. I think actually that people are a little tired of hearing about it (laughs) but it's true. I am often a little bit sick, in wintertimes.

I: So it helps in other words that the pressofficer for the MGP and NRK, Anja, have made a small kit here with grapes and all. But you are occupied with training Alexander?

A: Yes, and therefor it's so, it’s so ”kjipt”(Norwegian slang for sad) now, it's silly to be occupied with training when you don’t train (laughs)

I: Yes, for you are, if I have heard correctly, you are actually an instructor for gyms?

A: Yes, strengthroomsinstructor (?) yes. But that doesn’t help, I have not trained for 3-4 months.

I: Yes, for it has been pretty hectic for you this winter?

A: Yes, but there is a kind of training still, like when I was on tour with Elisabeth Andreasson. Then we played a concert each day and the concerts lasted an hour and a half. And you are quite active on stage…

I: It is a workout yes. But, I have heard that you said that you can not always comprehend that what happens now, happens now. When you think in a such way, and then won the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix final, you maybe didn’t "get it" before a few weeks later, because exactly when it happened you was in a way a completely different place, in a little bubble maybe?

A: Yes, at the very moment I try only to perform as best as possible, so that the memories afterwards can be of the best possible performance.

I: But now the process was a little bit longer, now you have gone that whole period from the final?

A: Yes, yes, yes, it was one week where I was, if I don’t remember wrong, it was one week where I was very pleased to win, but now I'm in Moscow in my mind (laughs). Would you like some grapes?

I: Yes, maybe we will share some grapes, but while you give me a grape, do you have a favorite Melodi Grand Prix song, that is not your own?

A: From this year, mhm, absolutely.

I: But in general, from previous years also, if we are to play a song?

A: "La det svinge" is the very good, it was an appropriate song at the right time.

I: Alexander Rybak, how is it now to represent Norway in the Eurovision, you are a favorite, and has been even before the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix final, but you think nothing of it?

A: Eeeh, it really is just joyfull, people cheer for me or fear me, or I do not know, but lately I have experienced a different kind of pressure. It’s so that on the rehearsals I don’t ”give it all” . On the rehearsals here on NRK for example, just to set the choreography, then I just stand there, I place myself only. And have a bit shabby hair and wearing my glasses and so on. Because it's comfortable. I'm there just to get information. And so people come to me, looking at me with fear in their eyes and say: ”But Alexander, you don’t do it, you are not flirting with the camera anymore” …...but there are no camera there! (both laugh).
So people need to understand, I look a little as… I notice it sometimes when I walk in the streets too, because it’s not always I can bear to dress me up too much, and then I see people with a little fear in their eyes, and they think: ”oj oj oj, it’s he who will represent Norway, what happened to him, he looks so sad/tired and so on”, but it's just that I havn't woken up yet !! (laughs). And I'm a little different, just like many other people, I have a slightly different mood from day to day.

In: What mood are you in right now then, Alexander?

A: Eehh ... A little relaxed, a little sick. Have I filled my quota on saying that maybe (laughs) ?

I: But we must certainly wish you ”get well” before you leave for the scene in Moscow. And you have to leave a few grapes for me :-)

A: Yes, yes, sure, you can get some nasalspray too :-)
