Translation of the interview from TV4.(I haven't seen it before)

-Dad has told a lot about places here, he was on a kind of wht is it called in Swedish, vacation, then he played in the streets in different towns. He liked two towns very much Malmö and Jönköping.
-On the advice fom his father Alexander Rybak choosed to have one of his concert in Jönköping. The family comes original from Belorussia and both mother and father works with music and it was his parents who made him begin playing the violin.
--I was small and my parents said that I should do that. You know when you aare little and your parents tells you what to do you don't think very much about it.
-Sometimes you must have thought do I have to practise the violin again.
--Yes every day, yes, yes,. Parents must not listen to their children it's the children wo have to listen to their parents.
-Since the victory of Eurovision is ”Fairytale” played often on the radio, but to suddenly become a super celebrity has also a backside.
--There are very many who tries to pull me down, people think that I can't play the violin , that it is fake.

I'm such a luddite when it comes to fanvids on Youtube. I have so many songs swimming around in the vacuum I call my brain, and I'd love to be able to put them to good use, but technology wise, my brain is saying 'You got NO chance love!!" I cant even load songs on an Ipod, for Petes sake!!! lol

@Lillian. i use a program called Youtube downloader. You can get it here:

It's free. A very nice little program. You just paste the youtube link in and you have to press ok once or twice and show it a folder to put the files. It can also convert them to mp3 to put on Ipod. It's easy, and if you want you can cut away pieces of talk and so on.
I like to download youtube videos I like, because some of them disappear out there after a while for different reasons.

Maybe I should add to that that I buy the songs I like if it's possible, I don't like to steal music. But it's a nice way to listen to songs before buying them, or to get an extra live version of songs. Or like with Fairytale, have a few dozens of different ones, even if I'm a bit tired of the song.

Now I'm wating for a double cd called Fight apathy, were Alex is playing with Inger Lise Stulien on a song called Can't be taken away.

I found this bit on the blog of a norwegian mother of 3. Very nice impression from the church-singings on dec.24th.

Christmas Eve we have a tradition to visit the church in our family and I would also welcome a discussion with those who think it is hypocritical to only go to church on Christmas Eve and other big days as baptisms, weddings and that sort of thing. I love the tradition we have with the small hours of reflection and preferably end with a trip to ... Vis merethe grave where my dear grandmother and grandfather are. This year we were only going to visit the church, because of snowchaos that was, but it was really a very wonderful experience. The boys sat as lighted candles, grandmother and grandfather sang along and - Alexander Rybak pleased us all (along with his mother) with songs and playing to perfection.
I was afraid for a moment that the eyes were going to fall out of the heads of the boys and that their heads were twisted out of joint, where they turned around to see Alexander up in the gallery. But I see real boys' fascination, I'll gladly admit.
That Rybak choose to give back to the community in the form of this type of 'entertainment' after a fall that has been described as a hard drive, it seems to me it's worth all possible respect. And as if this, was not enough; He stood at the end at the door, with the priest and took the peoples hands and wished merry Christmas too! The boys were sky fallen ... And yes, their mother also in fact. As a slight digression can I admit I yesterday night dreaming about Alexander Rybak. I got to know him and felt very strongly to protect him a little.
