ALEX AND OSLO SYMPHONICS IS GIVING FREE CONCERT FROM 16.00 ON MAY 17TH in Rådhusplassen, Oslo.

From 19.30, Nrk, is broadcasting a program, called HIGHLIGHTS FROM MAY 17TH and it wouldn´t be a very wild guess, that they show some of the concerts.

So keep an eye on Nrk1 on may 17th, from 19.30.....

This is highlights from the childrens parades in Oslo and other places in Norway. And also a little from celebration of 17th of May in other countries. But it is allowed to hope they will air something from Rådhusplassen too, either that day or some time later!!

I came to repost from some days ago, do remember to watch Fin Fredag today at nrk.no The program lasts from 1900-1930 and Alexander is a guest there. Hope it is possible to watch from other countries, NRK has made some changes in who is allowed to watch...

As rehearsals get underway in Norway today for the 55th Eurovision Song Contest, today also marks the anniversary of Alexander Rybak's record breaking victory in Moscow. One year ago today, his entry, Fairytale, broke almost every record in the Eurovision Song Contest history, winning more points than ever before, more top marks than ever before, and votes from every country.
Since his victory, Alexander Rybak has become an Norwegian icon. Fairytale became a pan-European download hit and he has recorded songs in Swedish, English and Russian since. As we reach the first morning break in rehearsals, with everything running smoothly in the press centre and Telenor Arena, esctoday.com would like to wish Alexander and NRK a very happy anniversary and congratulations on a wonderful job in putting together such an exciting Eurovision Song Contest this year.

Alexander Rybak. They’re ready to tear me into pieces!

The winner of last ESC is preparing to his performance in Oslo and looking for a girlfriend in Russia.
L: Alexander, last year you said that you didn’t have a girlfriend. Do you have her now?
A: Unfortunately, no, I don’t. Is there someone in Russia probably? I gave my phone number to a girl, but she hasn’t called. (laughing) But I didn’t have enough time to get to know someone…
L: It’s said that you moved from your parents’ home…
A: Yes, it’s true. We live in Oslo, but in its different parts.
L: After your victory in the ESC you became the new idol for thousands girls. Did your fans behave crazily for you?
A: Oh, yes! They’re ready for many things to pay my attention to them! Norwegian girls are distinguished by rash acts. For instance, they often climb up through the window into my hotel room. What lines line up near my room! They’re ready to tear me into pieces! But all that is nice to me! I talk to them, look at their albums with magazines’ scraps about me. Many of them come from other countries to communicate with me.
L: Do they fill up you by letters?
A: Yes, especially by e-mails. After the ESC final I’ve received 1,5 thousand letters for a couple of hours. That just frightens!
L: Do you reply them?
A: I prefer write paper letters than e-mails. I’ve already replied to 700 letters. I sit down and start to write. To be honest, my letters are not long, but I try to pay attention to a person who wasn’t lazy and sent me these lines in the envelope… Not only grown-ups but children write to me, send their photos, drawings. I really like to reply to it.
L: Have situations ever happened when your fans claimed that you’re father of their children?
A: I often joke at my concerts when I see many children in a hall: “Are all these children mine?”
L: There are long-lived rumors that you have a girlfriend, but you hide her carefully…
A: You know, even if I have a love affair with someone, I won’t tell about it at once. Who knows how it can influence on our relations? And the other reason is that firstly I need to understand if she is my real girlfriend or just friend? So if I say: “Let me introduce my love” and then break the relations in a week, this will be foolish!
L: You speak Russian very well…
A: My parents speak Russian at home. But when I talk to them I use many Norwegian words especially when I’m angry. Now I often come to Russia, so soon I’ll speak Russian fluently. Although half an hour ago I have been trying to understand what agiotage means for a long time.

Alex will be interviewed by NRK tomorrow at may 17th. The interview will be a short one, taken outside in the city, in the middle of the May17th-celebrations. I dont know, when it will be aired. Also I think, I wrote somewhere, that on NRk, in the evening at 19.30 or smth..there will be highlights from the May 17th celebrations and he could show up there.

Лена, откуда такие выводы? Я вот смотрю сейчас по порядку все репетиции, мне все нравится, и звук и оформление сцены - просто великолепный зал. Это не Олимпийский, огромный, пустой и бестолковый, сцена громадная, на которой не видно ни исполнителя, ни балета....вот там все и терялись как раз. А тут будет очень приятно в зале находиться, близко к сцене, красиво, уютно. Хотя конкурс прежде всего телевизионный, поэтому главное будет картинка - а она уже очень красивая на мой взгляд:)
