Pride

When I was little, I got praised by my parents when I did it good at school. For them it was a source of pride. I was really a good student, but not very popular kid. The others didn't like me, so I was trying to be separate from the group by beeing different.At the end of the elementary school I realized, that I am not worse then others.

It seems funny to talk about pride, because I don't want to show pride. Pride is not bad, but you shouldn't show it. I am proud of beeing cociable. I also have a good self-control. I also value myself for staying after concerts for 2-3 hours to give autographs. Not that it would be such a hard work to do, but not everyone would bother to do it.

People close to me are something to be proud of, especcially the girl, I am in love with. She understands me in every way and she is really special. I can walk proudly by her side. Already this makes me happy, that I have been given this opportunity to be with her. I can't yet say, she is my girlfriend, but we have been dating.

Envy

When I was little, I envied my friends, who had a lot of free time, while I was busy practicing hard. I have always been poor, thus sometimes I have envied rich people.

Many people in Norway envy me, too. When there is a couple walking on the street and the woman is about to run after me, then the man is seldom pleased with that.

A healthy amount of envy isn't bad. It's good to get a drive from other peoples success and to work for it, to succeed, too.

To be honest, I think that when God gave us feelings, then feeling envy comes from Him, too. Truly, envy is not bad, as long it doesn't hurt others.


Anger

I get angry almost every day. On the stage I want to bring people joy, but everything has it's downside, too. Often before the show I might act nastily with my team. Sometimes it is justified, because I want everything just to work out fine.

I get aggressive only when I am alone. When I get nerveous, I start hitting the wall or something, that wouldn't brake. Although I always get sore knuckles of it.
I also get angry, when I have to wake up early, but I have been rolling in bed whole night from not beeing able to sleep.

When I get angry, I swear a lot. But my talking is then just words after words, wich nobody understands. However, I kind of sense the situation and I own control over my behaviour. I would never swear in front of children.

Although I love music, the symphonies make me mad. They are too long and and they don't have an actual melody. Listening to the melodies like that, is frustrating.

Laziness

If the girl, who is in love with me, won't call me in 2 days, I consider her really lazy.
“I am always been against marriage. I want to have a relationship, but I don't necessarily want to marry”, is telling ESC winner Alexander Rybak, who is about to break hearts all around the world.

At the moment I don't really feel beeing lazy. Since April I have had only 1 day off. But on the other hand, working is fun. I don't take it the way, I HAVE to travel, but on the contrary, I CAN travel.

It's fun, that it contains the possibility to communicate with people. Even right now, having this interview, it doesn't feel like working. Doing some other job, I would most certainly be a workaholic, but right now, I am just enjoing.

My parents taught me to be hard-working. If the girl, who is in love me, won't call me in 2 days, I consider her really lazy. It is also a part of a russian mentality, that a delay of 2 days would be interpreted as a lack of interest.

I don't like household work, but while living alone, I have learned to clean up. Now the girls are visiting me more often, so I want to keep my room tidy. Laziness isn't really any help in those matters.

One can't be lazy while dealing with other people. While beeing with other people, one must be interested of the other and what it is talking about, otherwise it would be rude. If I want to relax, I'll watch some my favorite series like 24, Heros, Lost. To my lazyness belongs also enjoing tasty chicken.


Greed

After winning of ESC I was with many other artists performing at some big concerts, where perhaps half of an audience were my fans. I was wondering, why wasn't all there because of me. Now those thoughts are not there anymore and I am both happy about fans and the other listeners.

I would like to have money, fame and reputation – if it all would be possible. It would be great to find a partner and maybe to buy some own island somewhere. However I am not so greedy to own somebody.

I am grateful for everything, what has happened to me. I used to dream of many things, but I know that I am now at the top of my career. I will never be as popular as I am right now. But it doesn't mean, I can't do interesting music on the same time.

I can't imagine myself in 5 years still beeing a teen-idol. I have seen many of the middle age artists, who are trying to look young. It seems a bit desperate. Right now I am jumping on the stage, but it seems stupid to still keep jumping 10 years later.

Excess

I am greedy only, when it's about chocolate! Anyway, when I am hungry, I easily tend to overeat. I still keep filling my stomach, even though I have had enough. But I try to eat quite healthy – at least sometimes.

I am lucky, because alcohol is not a problem for me. I don't even like the taste of it. I used to drink to hide my bashfullness for girls at the nightclubs. Now I never need to do that any longer.

Debauchery

It's hard for me to say no to sex, if it would be offered. Except now: although there are 5000 girls around me, I can't think of any other than that one, whom I am in love with.

There are fans standing outside my hotel. I have sometimes dated some of them - and have then went a bit further, too. However, I can't say, that I am been taking advantage of the situation, rather they have been taking advantage of me.

On tour I have been dating, too. It's easy with fans anyway. If my date doesn't like music, is really skeptical about it, then I get a feeling, that she is not interested of, what I am talking about. Fans, on the other hand, may be thankful for with only one night with me.
